Love Tori Amos, but barely ever understand her lyrics.

I thought I more or less understood those - except for the Jupiter bit - and then I read somewhere that she's really referring to the belief that homophobia would disappear if all gays were painted blue, or had a blue spot on their forehead. That would only lead to all of them getting beaten up, if you ask me, but anyway. So she's not asking "are you happy, are you sad", she's really asking "are you homosexual".
