Something weird about working here is you NEVER have a clue what language you might have to speak when you enter a room. A while ago, I mentionned how crazy it got in New Years family reunions when I constantly had to walk around the place switching my "language" setting from French to English and back again... well it's even worse here. Because not only do you never know what the first language of the person you have in front of you is, it wouldn't even help if you did. Because after all, everybody here speaks both languages. So say the person standing in the room you're walking into is English - if that person knows you're French, they might very well start speaking to you in French. You NEVER know. It's incredible.
