The following is from the text I am currently working on. At first it had me amused because it sounds pretty stupid. Then it had me laugh because its place is definitely not in the middle of such a serious text. Then it had me puzzled as I tried to translate it because I realized how much it sounds like a sentence you could find in the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, immediately followed by a crazy story:

"Everyone takes a bridge for granted, until it is gone, and then you have a problem."
