Ok, this is over the top.

This morning, in the bus, a 40-year-old man got out of his seat when I got in, so as to leave it to me. I was shocked.

I mean, I can take it if you hold the door for me, if you'll insist I get in the bus/elevator/subway before you do, if you leave the last available seat to me in the bus/subway and remain standing and the like - although I never will completely get used to it - BUT please, if you're seated when I get in the bus, if you're almost twice my age and if I'm used to remain standing every morning in the bus, don't move.
