God. How often am I really supposed to call my mother?

We used to speak on the phone twice a week, but now that she's started working weekends, she can't seriously expect me to call twice in the same week. Please!

Last time I talked to her was Monday last week. I had a fair number of things to do last night, but I planned on calling tonight.

Well, this morning, Mom e-mailed me, asking how I was doing and telling me not to be a stranger. Because we haven't spoken in a week! A week!

This is depressing.
