This morning, I bought myself a new pair of glasses. Including a new frame, something I had not done in, let's see, well, ever, as my parents actually paid for that frame, as I got it in 1995.

And because I care and seize every opportunity to make people feel good, or rich, I will now ask you to take a guess at how much a pair of glasses costs when you have defective eyes such as mine.

Answer in an upcoming post.

I get mine for $25 at Zenni Optical.

That's hilarious. I just checked on a Canadian website, and the cheapest frame is $50. When I add in my prescription and the options I need (because they are not options when your lenses are as thick as mine), the total before taxes and shipping is $185...

If I'd bought them through my eye doctor, they probably would have been $350.

I have reservations about ordering glasses online. I'd be scared they wouldn't fit well on my tiny face. Also, as I have a strong prescription, the whole alignment of the glasses and the eyes needs to be really spot on. I do order my contacts online though. It is only slightly cheaper, but it saves me a stop at the optometrist every couple of months!
