The fact that I designed my own template seems to be interfering with the activation of comments on this blog.

I will have to do some reading about Blogger's tags and hopefully I should be able to manually add the necessary code pretty soon.

I must admit I am extremely disappointed in Signmyguestbook.com which never was down for so long in the past 5 years....
