Ok, where's my soapbox?

There are a lot of stories I am tired of hearing about on the news (comme la foutue libération de Guy Cloutier - non mais on s'en tape ! - et le dixième anniversaire du déluge du Saguenay - on s'en tape encore plus !), but the one that makes me the sickest certainly is all those people complaining that Harper isn't getting Canadians out of Lebanon fast enough.

SHUT UP!!!

Is it taking a long time? Yes. Are the conditions unbearable? Absolutely. Should Harper have kept his mouth shut and not publicly taken Israel's side? Totally.

But look, people, the premier is called Stephen Harper. Bombs make him happy. We knew it when we elected him, why whine now? God, I'm not asking anyone to like him (which would be irrational) but please... Any fucking prime minister would've been caught offguard by a situation like this.

I mean face it, guys: it is physically impossible to get thousands of people out of a country under attack in 24 hours. You need to evaluate the situation. You need to find planes. You need to find boats. I'm sure Celine Dion would be happy to lend us her kayak, but I doubt it would be helpful.

And by the way: whining is totally unproductive. If you really wanna help, find us a boat. Do something. Stop criticizing those who are trying their best to deal with the situation. Are we just a bunch of 3-year-olds?
