I logged on here without exactly knowing what I wanted to write....

For RENT lovers -

I was wandering around some Broadway website the other night, and ended up taking a look at the articles available for purchase in their gift shop.

And in the RENT articles, there was this cute little cow on which was written : "Moo with me !"

I thought it was the funniest thing. :)
A question : Why is finding the love of your life, or at least someone to spend the rest of your life with such a life goal for so many people ?

I mean, I know we are conditionned to see this as a life goal, but I, for one, ain't aiming at that.
All I want for my future is to find a job I will be happy to do, put myself together, have friends as good as those I have now, and turn this into my tiny little piece of happiness. This is what I need.

Of course the thought of dying alone is scary, but I don't wanna get married and I'm not sure I ever want kids - and I don't think never finding someone with whom you settle down and just live with till you die, I don't think that is a failure.

Why is it so important ?
They translated "Will & Grace" into French, and I am devastated to say that this show must be as boring in French as it is funny in its original version. One more thing that makes you thankful for learning a second language.
*sigh*

And the useless blobs are definetely gone, forever. So I'll have to find something else to lighten up my guestbook. All suggestions welcome, as I haven't got the slightest clue what I'm going to do.

Or actually, all I know is that I'm gonna start by taking the blobs off my guestbook....
If you think back, and replay your year, if it doesn't bring you tears of either joy or sadness, consider it wasted.
Those who watched Ally McBeal should all know how wise John Cage was.

So... quoted from December 31, 2001 (slightly modified though) -
"I never make resolutions for New Years, so I can't say I've achieved something this year. But I did make a wish on my birthday this summer. For the first time in years, my wish wasn't to lose weight, or t meet a great guy, or to have more money. I wished that the next would be a good year."

Yeah, and at that point I thought it was a total misuse of that candle-blowing moment, because in that 6-month time, some doctor announced to me that my hyperventilation was all in my head I said 'so's everything' but he didn't get it, I went crazy with my classes at school and thought for sure I wouldn't get out of college alive.

But then 2002 started.

I tried to take it easy at school... I'm not sure whether or not it was a good thing. At the beginning of the year, I worked even less at school... I remember starting studying two hours before an exam. I did manage to pass the class, no idea how or why... I started freewriting during my philosophy classes, every Monday morning at 8:00. That was nice. I survived a horrible French class, with a teacher who had ideas as opposed to mine as can be (even more than Rob ;)) and over-motivated team partners who didn't give a damn about me, and whom I let down more than once because of the musical...

Another doctor called me crazy. I think if I were to make any resolution, it would have to be to never go back to any doctor of any kind (except maybe the "Doctor of Divinity" kind to which Rob belongs ;)) (Houston, we have a victim).

Then summer happened. And it was actually pretty good, unexpectedly good, given my fears based on the horrible last two summers.

And then school started again. And I finally came to be able to study a little. And I passed all them 3 classes over average.

I don't know. I do think this year was calmer than, say, the last two.
Quoted again, still slightly edited -
"I won't make resolutions for next year either. Because I don't believe in that stuff. And because I've had enough of broken promises made to oneself. So I'll just wish for that same thing. I hope that things get smoother. I hope that I keep that ability to hope. I hope that I can remember what I've learned... and survive."

So this year I tried new stuff, kept going for things I really wanted to do, and started seeing results to it all.
Because when it comes down to it, yes, this world is a horrible, disgusting one and I hate that I am part of it - but it's not necessarily that bad.

I've achieved and grown a lot in the past two years, when I really started writing and thinking about who I was and what I was doing... I found the answers to a hell of a lot of questions, and at some point this year I realized that it all led me to know who I am.

So I guess I have to be satisfied of this year of 2002 - I at least have to admit there was an improvement.

And as far as I can see, 2003 should be an improvement as well, or at very least a huge change.

So tonight I wish, again, for things to get smoother, better for everyone including myself, and I wish all of you good luck for all there is still to come.

Happy New Year.
I'm broke but I'm happy
I'm poor but I'm kind
I'm short but I'm healthy, yeah
I'm high but I'm grounded
I'm sane but I'm overwhelmed
I'm lost but I'm hopeful baby
What it all comes down to
Is that everthing's gonna be fine fine fine
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving a high five
I feel drunk but I'm sober
I'm young and I'm underpaid
I'm tired but I'm working, yeah
I care but I'm restless
I'm here but I'm really gone
I'm wrong and I'm sorry baby
What it all comes down to
is that everything's gonna be quite alright
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other is flicking a cigarette
What is all comes down to
Is that I haven't got it all figured out just yet
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving the peace sign
I'm free but I'm focused
I'm green but I'm wise
I'm hard but I'm friendly baby
I'm sad but I'm laughing
I'm brave but I'm chicken shit
I'm sick but I'm pretty baby
What it all boils down to
Is that no one's really got it figured out just yet
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is playing the piano
What it all comes down to my friends
Is that everything's just fine fine fine
I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is hailing a taxi cab...
Oh, damn, and if you check, I announced last year that January 2nd was Official Piss Quartz Off Day.
This morning I am going to work as an adult. I mean, I'm officially not a student anymore, I am an adult.

And as today is the last day of this year, I'll try to post later a kind of summary of the past year (or is it passed ?) as I did last year, in my OD - because if you check, December 31, 2001 is apparently the day I learned I had flunked my second physics class. This year is a refreshing opposition. :)

And of course when such an important moment for human history happens, Blogger won't publish... Figures.
I GOT 70% IN PHYSICS !!!!! I GOT 70% IN PHYSICS !!!!!! ::happy:: ::happy:: ::joy:: ::joy::

I AM SUCH A KICK-ASS PHYSICS WHIZ !!!!! (okay, maybe not, but I do kick ass)

I am going for a trip next April ! My college years are over and done with ! At long freakin' last ! I am so HYPER right now !!!!!!!!

I got an average of 85%. Yay me !

J'AI FINI MON DEC EN SCIENCES SANTÉ !!!!!! J'AI FINI CE FOUTU CALVAIRE-LÀ !!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !

(présentement, ce qui joue, c'est la toune des schtroumpfs... la, la, la schroumf-la-la...)

You all may now stand up and applaud. I am a fucking goddess.
The best result I will have gotten in all my college years was turned in today. I got 97% for my phys. ed. class. Can you believe that ? Pathetic. Anyway. Given that the average is 79% (because people barely ever came to the class), I'm gonna get me one cool R rate.

Other than that, I work tomorrow and after that I have two free days... Can't wait. :)
Damn it, today is supposed to be the deadline, and I still have only my Spanish result in ! I am not glad !

Other than that, I slept for a little under eleven hours last night, and I feel I finally made up for all the sleep I've been lacking lately. :)
