How is that even remotely possible that installing IE 7 would prevent me from accessing my Hotmail account from Outlook Express?
This is plain ridiculous.
I'm probably gonna have to uninstall IE 7; and then I'll switch to one of those free browsers I never got the fuss over until today...

Not sure about Outlook Express because I don't use the infernal contraption, but make sure you've got all your microsoft updates installed, not just the critical ones.
If you uninstall IE7, you'll have to go into your security settings for IE6 and adjust them or you probably won't be able to use a lot of secure sites. IE7 sets security higher and then leaves them that way.
I use Thunderbird for email and Firefox for web because they suck a lot less than the microsoft products and have lots of useful add-ons.
